The BigShot controller system will synchronize 2 to 96 (128 optional) marine seismic sources, with 0.1 msec resolution. It features automatic Continuity/Leakage testing of Solenoid/Sensor lines, as well as monitoring of source Depth and string Pressure. The BigShot also monitors Manifold Pressure over 2 channels, offers Summed Sensor Timebreak detection, and allows configuration for Hydrophone, Shuttle, or PCB sensors. BigShot can handle Near Field hydrophone acquisition at 1 kHz with 16 bit data. The BigShot can also be run with an optional Windows-based Graphical User Interface software package, and a control PC, and is capable of expanded hydrophone data acquisition with the SmartPhone D system.

Pre-compliance testing in EMC is a commonly used term not easy to define. In general, it implies testing done prior to formal testing for legal compliance. Formal legal compliance is performed at a facility designed and equipped with test instrumentation that is fully compliant with the applicable EMC standards. Such facility and instrumentation is capital intensive and can be expensive even to rent and not easily available. Compliance testing is performed per exacting requirements of the Standards and other reference documents adhering to the test methods and last detail. In addition, the test facility may require to be accredited by an accreditation body such as NVLAP, A2LA. The A994 is an open circuit locator for electric and telephone cables wind on the reel; it gives the position of the fault from the inside or outside end of the cable, in percentage to the total cable length. The instrument measures the ratio of the capacitances of the two sections of failed conductor using two high precision i/v converters. The advantage of this method is due to the fact that the measurement error depends almost exclusively on the dimensional inhomogeneity of the cable. The A994 has the unique feature to permit the location of fault in cables with all broken wires. This instrument locates breaks in cables with a total capacity between 2 nF and 5 uF. The distance to fault is displayed on a large LCD display.
